A Shiba Inu, 9 years old, male, 11kg.

He went out on his own in the morning and was suspected to have been beaten, resulting in immobilization of both hind limbs. Physical examination showed grade 4 paralysis of both hind limbs, and X-ray examination revealed a fracture of the lumbar vertebrae, with no orthostatic X-ray of the spine taken to avoid secondary injury.
