Laura, a 10-year-old male Border Collie, weighed 34 kg.
Due to bilateral hip dysplasia, a hip replacement was decided. The BlueSAO Bionic Hip System was used. The implants used included a 25mm bionic acetabular cup, a 20mm PEEK femoral head, a size 7 bio-type femoral stem, an M+3 femoral neck, and a 20mm lateral plug.
This total hip replacement was performed by Dr. Li Yongqi, a BlueSAO physician with extensive clinical experience in total hip replacements, who provided one-on-one guidance throughout the entire procedure. Together, we helped Laura resolve her hip issues. The surgery was successfully completed, and we hope she recovers quickly!
"First do no harm" is a core principle of medical ethics, emphasizing that medical procedures should prioritize avoiding physical and mental harm to patients. A good surgical procedure must minimize physical harm to the animal. While there are always specific or unique cases, we should never use these as universal treatment principles. We strive for a clean total hip replacement, minimize surgical intervention, and strive for pain-free joints in small animals!
BlueSAO Hip Replacement System: Utilizes the mainstream forged stem technology in human medicine, not 3D-printed stems! It stands the test of time and is safer and more reliable!
Special thanks to Dr. Han Bo of Harbin Dr. Song Pet Hospital and Dr. Li Yongqi of Tianjin Panda Animal Hospital Huating Branch for sharing their BlueSAO Bionic Hip System case studies!
