Poodle, 14 years old, male, weight 2.66 kilograms.
This dog suffered from periodontal problems in its mouth, resulting in bone resorption in the mandible. It had a fracture in the right mandible 24 years ago, but was still able to eat and maintain its quality of life. In December 2025, a fracture occurred in the left mandible as well. Considering that the dog also had heart problems, the owner was worried about anesthesia and prognosis, so they chose conservative treatment for one month. However, recently the oral pain has become increasingly severe, and the periodontal problems have worsened, seriously affecting the quality of life. After careful consideration, they decided to undergo bilateral mandibular fracture repair surgery.
During the operation, BlueSAOPRCL® - 6.5mm pure titanium locking bone plate was used for bilateral internal fixation, and the new product BlueSAO 3D printed artificial synthetic bone particles were added at the fracture site to stimulate bone generation and healing. The surgery was successfully completed, and the dog regained the ability to eat independently 3 days after the operation!
Thanks to Dr. Li Bo from Chongqing TaanTaihe Animal Hospital for sharing the clinical cases of BlueSAO-3D printed artificial synthetic bone particles and PRCL® locking bone plate system.
