The patellar dislocation has persisted for many years. Recently, it was noticed that the dog was experiencing pain while walking and reducing its physical activities. Physical examination confirmed the diagnosis of: bilateral patellar dislocation grade 3. The gait was normal. A decision was made to undergo PGRsurgery. During the operation, the BlueSAO BiologicalPGR System #4 implant was used for replacement. The surgery was successfully completed. We hope the dog will recover soon!
Thanks to Dr. Li Zhenfu from Nanjing Laile Pet Hospital, for sharing the clinical case of the BlueSAO biological press-fit PGR system!
The PGR surgery will bring a painless joint to patients with patellar dislocation.
Doctor Jia Xinsheng's view is that the PGR surgery will bring a painless joint to patients with patellar dislocation, and he suggests that the PGR surgery be adopted for eligible cases of patellar dislocation. For instance, cases where the patella flat, deformed, underdeveloped, too narrow, or where the veterinarian's assessment of the deepening of the patella groove fails to yield effective results, etc., all recommend the use of patella groove replacement surgery (PGR).
