A cat, named Tangyuan, 6 months old, fell down from the third floor, caused an open fracture of right tibia. The fracture site was contaminated by soil. We fixed the tibia by using the BlueSAO HyProtect-PRCL-S6.5mm antimicrobial plasma coating locking plate. The MicroSilver antimicrobial plasma coatings come from German Bio-Gate company. This antimicrobial plasma coating can release Ag+( silver ion) in body more than 100 days for resisting infection. The cat recovered well after surgery. The fracture site was not infected.
