Maltese, female, 4.8kg, 4 years and 6 months old

This is a young Maltese. She suffered from bilateralpatellar luxation and right hindlimb lameness. About half a year ago, The first surgery was performed in another hospital, including trochlear deepening and transposition of the tibial tuberosity. The right hind limb remained lameness and become even worse after surgery. The reasons for this may be the stimulation of Kirschner wire. So weremovedthe Kirschner wire. After that, we found that she suffered from the arthritis. We used analgesic and protective drug of joint. However the efficacy was poor. She were referred to our hospital and hope to get effective treatment options or recommendations.

Her right hindlimb lost the ambulation function. We found she suffered from grade 4 patellar luxation and can feel obvious bone fricative by palpation. The results of the drawer test and the tibial compression test both were negative. The X-ray showed that the severe degenerative lesions developed in the proximal tibia and distal femurof right knee and the fatpaddisappeared. The osteotomy line of tibial tuberosity was still visible and appeared too close to the tibial plateau. The meniscus may be damaged. The degenerative osteoarthritis of the left knee was slightly better than that of the right. There was no lameness in the left hind limb.
