A poodle, 2 years old, male, 3.8kg,suffered from femoral head luxation. As such, we decided to perform a hip replacement surgery on this dog. Intraoperatively, we adopted a 13mm PEEK cemented acetabular cup, a 10mm+2 femoral head, and a #1.5 cemented femoral stem of BlueSAO Micro & Nano Bionic Hip Replacement System for replacement. The surgery was completed successfully. Immediate postoperative luxation testing showed stable results, and the cat is recovering quickly thanks to the minimal damage from this surgery.
As one of the core principles of medical ethics, "First Do No Harm" emphasizes that medical actions should prioritize avoiding physical and mental harm to patients. A good surgical procedure must cause minimal damage to small animals.
There are always specific or special cases at any time, but we must never take these as the general treatment principles. We strive for clean total hip replacements with the least possible surgical damage and work hard to achieve pain-free joints for small animals.
