Pug, nickname: Shaoshui, 5 years old, female, body weight 5.6 kg.
Bilateral femoral head necrosis. Four years ago, right hip joint replacement was performed, and the recovery was good. Recently, weakness of the left hind limb was found. Clinical examination showed no cranial cruciate ligament problem, so it was then decided to perform left hip joint replacement surgery.
During the surgery, the BlueSAO Micro Biomimetic Bone Cement-Type Hip Joint System was used for replacement. The implants selected were: 13 mm PEEK bone cement-type acetabular cup, 10 mm +2 femoral head, and #1.5 bone cement-type femoral stem. The surgery was successfully completed. The postoperative recovery was good, and the affected limb could soon bear weight and walk normally.
Four years after BlueSAO bone cement-type THR surgery, from the X-ray film, it can be seen that the muscle recovery of Shaoshui’s right leg is full and symmetrical, and the bone ingrowth is very good!
Special thanks to Teacher Zhou Yiping from Shanghai Baicui Animal Hospital for bringing the clinical case sharing of the BlueSAO Micro Biomimetic Bone Cement-Type Hip Joint System!
